GnoScan is a multi-threaded network scan and security utility with an intuitive graphical user interface. It runs under the Gnome environment and is an independent application that does not need further third-party toolkits. This is not the world's first port scanner, but certainly one of the most easy ones to use.
GnoScan is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License. For more information, see the COPYING file provided with the GnoScan program.
Getting GnoScan
Please note that GnoScan needs GTK-- and Gnome-- to be installed. Those are object oriented libraries for GTK+/Gnome widgets. Further information can be found in the INSTALL file provided with the GnoScan distribution. Really, read that file!
GnoScan's BerliOS CVS repository can be checked out through anonymous (pserver) CVS with the following instruction set. When prompted for a password for anonymous, simply press the enter-key.
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.gnoscan.berlios.de:/cvsroot/gnoscan login cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.gnoscan.berlios.de:/cvsroot/gnoscan co gnoscan
